India Exports Bananas products worth price of 86.18 INR Million in Jun 2016, 60.21 INR Million in Aug 2016, 75.66 INR Million in Oct 2016, 68.83 INR Million in Jul 2016, 59.73 INR Million in Sep 2016 and 80.34 INR Million in Nov 2016 in India.
Areas of Cultivation : Banana is grown in India on a variety of soils such as the heavy clay soil of the Cauvery delta, alluvial soils of the Gangetic delta, black loam in Maharashtra, coastal sandy loams and the red lateritic soil of the hilly tracts of Kerala.
India Facts and Figures : India's banana exports grew both in terms of volume as well as value from 1.34 lakh metric tonne valued at Rs 413 crore in 2018-19 to 1.95 lakh metric tonne valued at Rs 660 crore in 2019-20. During 2020-21 (April-February), India has exported banana worth of 1.91 lakh tonne valued at Rs 619 crore.
